When should I book my newborn photography session?

The best time to book newborn photos is during pregnancy, ideally in your second or early third trimester. Booking early ensures your photographer has availability around your due date.

What is the best age for newborn photos?

The ideal age for newborn photography is 10–21 days old. During this stage, babies sleep deeply and naturally curl into the sweet poses parents love.

What happens if my baby arrives early or late?

Your newborn session is scheduled based on your due date. Once your baby arrives, simply send a message, and we’ll adjust the session date if needed.

How do I schedule my newborn photography session if my baby hasn’t been born yet?

Newborn sessions are reserved using your due date. When booking online, choose a date about 10 days after your due date. Once your baby arrives, the session can easily be adjusted if needed.

How long does a newborn photography session take?

Newborn sessions last 2 hours. This gives us time for feeding, soothing, and family photos, all at your baby’s pace.

Do parents and siblings take photos with the baby?

Yes. Parents and siblings are welcome in your newborn session, up to 6 people total. Family photos are always optional.

What should parents wear for newborn photos?

Simple, neutral clothing photographs best for newborn sessions. Soft tones and minimal patterns help keep the focus on your baby.

Do I need to bring anything to my newborn photography session?

Most of the session is fully prepared with props, wraps, and sets. Just bring the usual baby essentials, like diapers, wipes, and a bottle or pacifier if you use one.

Are props and outfits provided for newborn photos?

Yes. The studio includes a variety of newborn props, wraps, blankets, and styled sets designed specifically for newborn photography.

What if my baby won’t sleep during the session?

Newborn photographers are experienced at soothing babies. Feeding breaks, cuddling, and patience are all part of the process to keep your baby comfortable.

Is newborn photography safe for my baby?

Yes. Your baby’s comfort and safety are always the top priority. All poses are done gently and safely with careful support throughout the session.

What if my baby is older than two weeks?

While the best age for newborn photos is 10–21 days, older babies can still be photographed beautifully with adjusted poses and styling.

Can newborn photos still be done if my baby was in the NICU?

Yes. If your baby spent time in the NICU or needed extra recovery time, newborn photos can still be taken once your baby is home and healthy. The session will simply be adjusted to your baby’s comfort and needs.

When will I see my newborn photos?

You’ll see your images in the studio right after your session and choose your favorite photos before you leave.

How many photos will I get from my newborn session?

The number of images included depends on the package you choose. After your session, you’ll view your images and select your favorites.

Do you offer albums or wall art for newborn photos?

Yes. Custom albums and wall art are available to turn your newborn photos into lasting heirlooms.

How much does newborn photography cost?

Your newborn session includes 6 edited digital photos and costs $600 for the 2 hour shoot. After your session, you’ll view your images in the studio that same day and choose your favorites. You can add more at $25 each, or upgrade to 10, 20, or 40 digitals when you book.

Where is your newborn photography studio located?

IJ Photo studio is located in Everett, Washington, serving families throughout Snohomish County and the greater Seattle area.

Many of my clients drive up from Seattle, and they tell me it’s worth it. My Everett studio is just minutes off I-5, an easy trip from Seattle, Bothell, Lynnwood, Mill Creek, Marysville, and all of Snohomish County. Parking is easy.

My studio is made for newborn photography. The lighting, sets, wraps, and props are ready before you arrive. It is calm, clean, and private, and your baby’s comfort and safety always come first. You simply walk in, relax, and focus on your baby.
