The best time to book your maternity session is when you are 25+ weeks along. This gives us plenty of time to plan your session while ensuring your newborn's spot is automatically reserved on the calendar.

When is the best time for newborn photos?

Newborn sessions are typically photographed when babies are 10–21 days old, while they are still very sleepy and curly. However, older babies can absolutely be photographed — we’ll simply adjust the session to match your baby’s stage.

Can family be included in the Maternity and Newborn session?

Family and sibling images are always optional. Some families love including everyone, while others prefer to keep the focus just on the baby — both are completely welcome.

What should I wear for my maternity session?

You’ll have access to 70+ maternity wardrobe pieces in the studio, so there’s no need to stress about shopping. I’ll guide you in choosing flattering options and what you need to bring. The wardrobe is for the pregnant mom and baby only. I am sorry, I cannot offer a wardrobe for partners and children. 

Is hair and makeup included?

Yes — professional hair and makeup are included with the maternity and newborn session in the Bump-to-Baby Bundle to help you feel polished and camera-ready.

How does same-day ordering work?

Right after your session, you’ll view your photos on the big screen and choose exactly what you love. Same-day ordering = instant peace of mind.

How much do most families spend?

Your session includes a set number of edited digital files depending on the package you choose. After your session, you'll view your images and choose exactly what you want — digital files are $25 each, and there’s no minimum purchase. You are in control of how much you spend.

Where is the studio located?

IJ Photo is located in Everett and serves families throughout Snohomish County and the greater Seattle area. The private studio is fully prepared, so you can simply arrive and relax.

What if my baby arrives early or late?

No worries at all — your newborn session is scheduled flexibly around your baby’s actual arrival. Once the baby is here, you’ll simply reach out, and we’ll confirm the exact session date. Newborn sessions are typically photographed at 10–21 days old, but older babies can absolutely be photographed if needed. Your baby’s safety and comfort always come first.

Do you provide props and wraps for newborn sessions?

Yes — the studio is fully stocked with carefully selected wraps, textures, and simple props designed to keep the focus on your baby. Everything is prepared for you, so there’s no need to bring anything unless you have a small, meaningful item you’d like included (completely optional).

Can I purchase an album or wall art later?

Yes, you’re always welcome to add albums or wall art later through your online gallery. You’ll have the freedom to choose what feels right for your family.
