Seattle Wedding Photographer

Irene’s Story

“Few things in life have greater value than the stories we tell. Within our shared memories the people we love are immortal.

I believe this is why professional wedding photography has such a powerful hold upon our hearts. This technology has given us the ability to turn our stories, into timeless treasures that can be shared across the generations. It is because of the inherent emotional nature of a photograph that I became a Seattle wedding photographer. I have made it my life’s work to bless, share, and define the personal histories of others, in an artistic way.

It is my mission to uncover the beauty that exists in each narrative and give it the reverence it deserves. And as an added layer I choose to donate much of the proceeds from your investment into helping others. By adding this philanthropic element to my Seattle wedding photography business I feel that a dual purpose can be achieved; we can honor and celebrate life’s most important events while helping others rise above their difficulties thus creating their own story worth sharing. I invite you to review my wedding galleries and portrait portfolios now; within them you will find my heart and soul.

Event Photography

  • Weddings

Wedding photos are the most important photographic investment you will ever make. Your wedding is the beginning of something amazing. While loved ones gather, tears of joy will be shed, and you will join yourself to the one person that you can’t live without. Weddings are filled with beautiful emotions and the powerful relationships that define us. These memories deserve to be honored in a creative and timeless way. That’s where I come in. My goal is to see what is deep in your heart and pull it into focus. I want you to be able to see your wedding photos and remember all of the good over and over. Choosing IJ Photo means quality artwork, sincere customer service, and exceeded expectations all along the way.

  • Engagements

More than just a tradition; engagement photos are fun, relaxing, and personalized. It’s an opportunity for you and your fiance’ to introduce yourselves as a couple to the world, while getting to know your photographer! Together we create portraits that you’ll want to hang on your wall, send to friends and family, and even use as part of your wedding décor. Most wedding photography packages include an engagement session. It’s just one more way IJ Photo adds value to your Seattle wedding photos!

  • Family

I love my wedding clients and I like to think that they love me too because so many of them return year after year for family portraits. Family portraits are a great way to decorate your home and mark the different phases of life. Sessions for families are done on location or in studio depending on your preference and the time of year. Portrait sessions aren’t limited to just families. High school seniors, newborns, couples, kids of any age, and pets are all welcome!

  • Children

Your child’s inner life is unique and imaginative. Using advanced Photoshop techniques and years of training working with infants and children of all ages, I create one of a kind fine art portraits of your child that go beyond what the eye can see. Each session focuses on creating a work of art that you’ll be proud to display in your home. Additionally the Baby Bundle Program allows you to capture each phase of your child’s earliest development in an artistic way that goes far beyond your average session.

Why Choose IJ Photo?

I love photography. It’s what I do. I especially love doing engagement and wedding photography in the Seattle area.

A personalized consultation is the first step to booking your wedding or portrait session. These meetings are fun as well as informational. You’ll learn everything about how our session will go, how you will order, and how much it will cost. You’ll also help me plan your session so we can get exactly the photos you want in the most creative and efficient way. Understanding who you are and your needs is vital to my process. I value you as an individual and want to understand exactly how to meet and exceed your expectations.

Seattle is a wonderful place to live and work. My studio is in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle and my home is in Lake Stevens, WA. While many of my sessions happen in my studio, I enjoy opening up my home to clients for our ordering appointments. In this comfortable environment we work together to design your custom album, choose wall art that fit your home, and much more. Additionally, I travel worldwide for wedding photography and would love to go with you to any destination you can imagine. Destination weddings are wonderful because you leave all of the stress of planning and hosting at the location. It’s a great idea to choose a local vendor for your destination wedding because a majority of the work actually gets done before and after the big day. My clients who I have traveled with loved the convenience of having me so close to help them put their album together, and photograph their engagement session. Plus travel is no additional cost for most locations!

I have been photographing professionally for 15+ years. In my time I have worked with thousands of families, and attended over 300 weddings. My engagement and wedding photographs are routinely published in magazines and wedding style blogs, but the thing I am most proud of is the opportunity to give back. IJ Photo gives a percentage of our earnings each year to charitable organizations. I believe that we find true love when we open our hearts to others. So it was natural for me to see the link between photography and philanthropy. I hope that you will too.

  • Wrangling my massive Hungarian family for a group photo is like herding stampeding elephants – impossible. So, when it came to the day of our wedding I assumed the family photograph would be a chaotic mess. Irene assembled and organized us all fast and took some of the greatest family pictures we have to date. I’m still amazed how smoothly everything went. The photos and albums we ordered are our greatest wedding treasure. I didn’t think it was possible to capture the beauty of our wedding day so perfectly. We’ve been married almost 2 years now and our friends and family still ask to see our wedding albums. They can’t believe how beautiful all our pictures turned out.

  • The photographs from our wedding were stunning and fully captured all the delicate moments from our special day. Irene and her assistant were a fun and natural presence at our wedding and we loved having them there. We would recommend Irene Jones to any bride wanting piece of mind in knowing that she’s made the perfect choice for her wedding photographer. Thanks for all your hard work!

  • We had no idea how important and timely our photos would become since my grandfather passed away last week. He surprised us all by attending the wedding. You got some really special photos that will mean alot to my family. Thank you so much!

  • We were so impressed with your wonderful work at our wedding. Our families rave about the photo albums; and our parents (both sets) absolutely loved the parent albums. My husband’s two sisters were married just before us and one, I quote, said, “This album puts ours to shame”. We were incredibly grateful for Irene’s willingness to travel to us. We were married in Yakima, WA. She also attended our rehearsal with wonderful pictures to boot. Irene was incredibly flexible [during the wedding] with families and friends all wanting [photos] with the bride and groom, I can say we were all pleasantly satisfied. Thank you so much for the hard work, flexibility, and artistic photography. Thanks again!

  • Working with Irene was way beyond any expectation I had, not only were my pictures amazing but they were extremely reasonably priced, I have referred friends to her since my wedding and all of them were very satisfied with her work. People to this day still ask me who did my photography for my wedding when they see the pictures hanging in my house.

  • Kathy has made little comments about our wedding over the last 2 weeks, indicating that some of it [the wedding] wasn’t exactly what she wanted and that there were a few disappointments. However, she stayed up until somewhere around 3:00 AM looking through ALL of the pictures. She is now singing a happy tune not only about how awesome the pictures are, but also about how she now can see what a wonderful [night] it was for our friends and family. Most of the pictures are things we didn’t know anything about and it was like seeing everything for the first time.

  • I just wanted to say that we are SO pleased with our pictures. There are no words to describe how grateful we are for the work you did to capture our wedding day memories. When we were looking at them, there was never a time that we said “that’s not a very good one”. They are all amazing, everyone is just blown away at how beautiful they turned out. Thank you so much for everything.

  • Thank you so much for making these BEAUTIFUL albums! We just received them on Saturday, just in time (for Christmas) to give one to Katie’s father yesterday and her mother today. Katie’s dad teared up a little as he was looking through it last night and he told us it meant a lot to him. We expect both Katie’s mom and my parents to have similar responses!

  • I just wanted to thank you for all of the support during my wedding day. Irene, you were a blast to work with. I was looking through the pictures and the way you had me pose and the pictures you took of me made me look like I was the most beautiful bride ever in existence. I felt beautiful, but I didn’t believe it until I saw the photos. I felt like we were old friends. Zach looks sharp too, but come on, I am hot. Thank you again, Irene.
