Snohomish County Maternity Photography Studio
You are growing a person. Your body is doing something extraordinary — and before the chaos of birth and the beautiful blur of those first weeks, there's this quiet, powerful in-between. The bump. The anticipation. The love that's already real even though you haven't met yet.
Most moms tell me they almost didn't book. They weren't sure they'd feel comfortable in front of the camera. They worried about what to wear, how they'd look, and whether it was worth the effort when they were already exhausted.
That's exactly what my studio was built for. I'll take care of everything — the wardrobe, the posing, the environment. You just have to show up. I'm a mom of four, and I've been photographing pregnant women for over 25 years. You are in the right hands.

Available May through September
Prefer to be outside? Take your session on location.
There's something magical about maternity portraits in natural light — the soft glow, the open air, the feeling of being fully yourself in a place that means something to you.
From May through September, any session can be taken outdoors. I love working at the Evergreen Arboretum in Everett, Jennings Park in Marysville, and Discovery Park in Seattle — and I have connections to private locations not available to the general public.
A few things to know:
- The studio wardrobe doesn't travel on location — but that's part of what makes it feel different. Bring what feels like you.
- I recommend a mix: one flowing dress that photographs beautifully in movement, and one more casual or personal outfit.
- Not sure what will work? I'm happy to help you select your attire before your session — just reach out after booking.
- Location sessions are priced the same as studio sessions. Simply note in the booking comments that you'd like to shoot on location and your preferred spot.
6 reasons why maternity photos matter:
You will never be pregnant
with this baby again.
-
Because this version of you only exists right now
The bump, the glow, the quiet anticipation — this is a season that passes faster than you expect. Professional maternity photography preserves what no phone camera can fully capture.
-
Because you deserve to feel beautiful right now
Not after the baby. Not when you "get your body back." Right now, exactly as you are. A guided studio session with the right wardrobe and lighting will show you a version of yourself you didn't know was possible.
-
Because your child will want to see this one day
These images are not just for you. They are proof — to your child, when they're old enough to understand — that they were loved and anticipated before they ever took a breath.
-
Because the newborn blur is real
The first weeks after birth are a haze. Having beautiful images from your pregnancy gives you something to hold onto from the before — the calm, the anticipation, the moment right before everything changed.
-
Because IJ Photo was built to make this easy
25 years of experience. A calm private studio in Everett. 70+ gowns ready and waiting. Same-day image viewing. A mom of four behind the camera who truly understands what this season feels like
-
Because you'll never regret having these photos
Not a single mom has ever looked back and wished she hadn't done her maternity session. But many have wished they had. Don't be the one who looks back and wishes.

With more than 25 years of experience photographing growing families, I’ve built my Everett studio and process around making maternity and newborn sessions feel calm, guided, and completely taken care of from start to finish. Maternity Photography FAQs
1. When should I schedule my maternity photography session? The best time to schedule your maternity session is during your second trimester, ideally between 25 and 34 weeks. This gives us plenty of time to plan your session while ensuring your bump is beautifully visible, and you still feel comfortable.
2. What is the best time during pregnancy for maternity photos? Most clients find 28 to 32 weeks to be the sweet spot — your bump is full and round, your energy is still good, and you have enough time before delivery to relax and enjoy the experience. If you're carrying multiples or have a high-risk pregnancy, consider scheduling earlier.
3. What should I wear for my studio maternity photography session? You don't need to worry about finding the perfect outfit — I have a curated wardrobe of 70+ maternity gowns available for every studio session. Flowing gowns, dramatic tulle, fitted silhouettes, bohemian wraps — there is something for every style and body type. Your wardrobe consultation appointment, included with every session, is where we'll choose your looks together before your session day.
4. What should I wear for an outdoor maternity photography session? Since the studio wardrobe stays in the studio, outdoor location sessions are a wonderful opportunity to wear something that feels personal and uniquely you. I recommend bringing a mix — one flowing dress that moves beautifully in natural light, and one more casual or relaxed outfit that reflects your everyday style. Not sure what will work on camera? I'm happy to help you choose your attire before your session — just reach out after booking, and we'll figure it out together.
5. Can my partner and children be included in my maternity photos? Absolutely. Partners and children are welcome in Full and VIP sessions, which allow time for family portraits alongside your individual maternity images. Mini sessions are designed around you and your bump, though your partner is welcome to join. Simply let me know in advance so I can plan accordingly.
6. How long does a maternity photography session take? Session length depends on the package you choose. Mini sessions are 30 minutes and focused on you and your bump. Full sessions are 1 hour, allowing time for outfit changes and family photos. VIP sessions are 1.5 hours — fully unhurried, with time for multiple looks and a relaxed pace from start to finish.
7. What should I bring to my maternity photography session? For studio sessions, the wardrobe is fully provided so there's very little to think about. I recommend bringing a strapless push-up bra and matching skin-tone underwear, any jewelry you'd like to wear, and heels if you have them — not required, but they photograph beautifully. If you have a meaningful prop you'd like included (ultrasound photos, baby shoes, a sentimental piece), feel free to bring it along. For outdoor sessions, bring your chosen outfits and comfortable shoes.
8. Can I do an outdoor maternity photography session in Everett or Seattle? Yes — outdoor location sessions are available from May through September. I love working at beautiful spots like the Evergreen Arboretum in Everett, Jennings Park in Marysville, and Discovery Park in Seattle. I also have access to private locations not available to the general public. Any session package can be taken on location — simply note your preference when booking.
9. Is professional hair and makeup included in maternity photography sessions? Professional hair and makeup are included with the Bump-to-Baby Bundle for both your maternity and newborn sessions. For standalone maternity sessions, hair and makeup can be added as an upgrade — ask about availability when booking.
10. How do I get my maternity photos after the session? You'll view every image on the same day as your session and choose your favorites before you leave. Your selected images will be professionally edited and delivered digitally within a few days. Printed products, albums, and wall art are also available and can be ordered at your same-day viewing appointment.
11. Do you offer payment plans for maternity photography sessions? Yes — flexible payment options are available to help make investing in your maternity photos easier. Ask about payment plans when booking, and we'll find the best option for your budget.
12. What is the Bump-to-Baby Bundle, and is it worth it? The Bump-to-Baby Bundle combines your maternity and newborn sessions into one package at $1,495 — less than booking both separately. It includes a 1-hour maternity session, a 2-hour newborn session, professional hair and makeup for both sessions, 16 fully edited images (8 from each session), and a $200 album credit. For families planning both sessions, it is almost always the best value and the easiest way to plan ahead.
13. What makes a great maternity photographer in the Seattle and Everett area? The best maternity photographer is one who makes you feel completely at ease — someone who understands how to flatter a pregnant body, provides a fully guided experience so you never have to wonder what to do, and has the experience to capture images that feel real and beautiful rather than posed and stiff. At IJ Photo, every studio session includes a curated wardrobe of 70+ gowns, a same-day image-viewing appointment, and 25 years of experience photographing pregnant women throughout Everett, Seattle, and Snohomish County.
