Amiee + Eliot: A Mercer Island Backyard Wedding
Amiee and Eliot said “I do” in a beautiful backyard on Mercer Island, with Lake Washington just beyond the lawn. Their Jewish ceremony was full of meaning and tradition, surrounded by the people they love most.
Then the celebration really began. The couple and their guests jumped into a pool party, with laughter, splashing, and pure joy. As the evening settled in, everyone moved to the shore of the lake for the reception, where they danced late into the night with the water glowing behind them.
It was relaxed, personal, and so much fun. Exactly what a backyard wedding should be.
Blair + Henry: A PNW Summer Wedding at Hope Island Beach Club in La Conner, WA
Blair and Henry wanted their out-of-town guests to experience a true Pacific Northwest summer, and their June wedding in La Conner delivered exactly that: cold wind, then bright sun breaks, all in one afternoon.
Their ceremony took place right on the water at Hope Island Beach Club, with a wedding party made up of Henry’s son and other kids from their family and friends. Having the little ones stand beside them made the whole ceremony feel warm and personal.
Guests had plenty to explore during the celebration, with custom spells, tarot readings, and lawn games. Late-night burgers and fries kept everyone going. This group loved to dance, and they filled the lawn singing and dancing until Blair and Henry made their grand exit at sunset.
Marisa + Ben: A Pirate Ship Wedding on Lake Washington
A week before the wedding, Marisa, Ben, and I met at Discovery Park for their couple’s portraits. That way, their wedding day could be all about time with the people they love. I was all for it!
On the big day, guests stepped aboard the Queen Anne’s Revenge to pirate-themed décor and snacks. We set sail from MOHAI on Lake Union and cruised out to Lake Washington, just past Husky Stadium, where Marisa and Ben exchanged their vows on the water. Then they walked the plank and jumped into the lake fully dressed!
Later, guests signed that same plank as a custom guestbook, destined to decorate the walls of the couple’s home.
Back on shore, the celebration moved to the Edgewater Hotel for dinner, drinks, and dancing.
Tyler + Joshua: A Roche Harbor Wedding
Tyler and Joshua said “I do” on a Tuesday at Roche Harbor, and friends and family came from all over to spend the whole week with them in this San Juan Island paradise.
For their portraits, we toured the island together, with stops at the historic lime kiln and the cemetery. Then everyone enjoyed fresh oysters during cocktail hour and danced until dark.
Their best women were adorable, and just the kind of friends you hope to have!

How Much Should You Budget for Wedding Photography?
Most couples spend about 10 to 15% of their total wedding budget on photography. Start with what matters most to you. One couple with a backyard elopement booked full-day coverage because they wanted an album of the whole day. Another booked 3 hours for family photos after the ceremony and a little of the reception. Both were the right choice for them.

How much does a Seattle wedding photographer cost?
My wedding coverage is $700 per hour, or you can choose 4 hours for $2,400, 6 hours for $3,600, 8 hours for $4,000, or 12 hours for $5,400. Most couples spend about 10 to 15% of their total wedding budget on photography.
What is included in every wedding package?
Every package includes edited digital images ready to print and share, a private online gallery, a timeline and photo list review, true-to-life color editing, natural direction, and a 1-week turnaround.
How fast will we get our wedding photos?
Your full gallery is ready in 1 week. Not months.
Do you offer a second photographer?
Yes. A second photographer is a $700 add-on. It is a great choice for larger weddings or when getting-ready photos happen in two places.
Do you offer engagement sessions?
Yes. An engagement session is a $600 add-on. It is also a relaxed way to get comfortable in front of the camera before the big day.
Do you offer wedding albums?
Yes. Heirloom wedding albums start at $800.
Where do you photograph weddings?
I photograph weddings across Seattle, King County, Snohomish County, and beyond, from intimate venue weddings to small elopements in the mountains.
How many weddings have you photographed?
More than 600! (I honestly lost count after 600.) I have been a professional photographer for more than 25 years.
Do you photograph LGBTQIA+ weddings?
Yes. All love deserves to be celebrated. I have been honored to work with couples from all backgrounds, lifestyles, and orientations, and I look forward to honoring your story.
