How Much Does Newborn Photography Cost?

Some photographers list only a session fee and everything else costs extra. Others bundle everything into one large number. Here is exactly what newborn photography costs at my Everett studio, with no hidden fees and no surprises at checkout.

Newborn Photography Pricing at My Studio

My newborn sessions start at $350, and every package includes same-day image viewing and ordering, so you see your photos before you leave the studio.

The Mini Newborn Session fee is $350. It is a one-hour session in a fully prepared studio and the most flexible option for your budget. You purchase images individually at $25 each with no minimum, so you choose exactly what you want. Some families take home a handful of favorites, others fall in love with the whole gallery. The choice is completely yours.

The Full Newborn Session is $695. This two-hour session includes time for feeding, soothing, and family photos, with parents, siblings, and grandparents welcome. Six digital images are included, and additional images are $25 each. This is my most popular session because it includes images and time to photograph your baby with multiple props, plus family photos with you and up to 6 family members.

The VIP Newborn Session is $995. This is two and a half hours of relaxed, baby-led studio time with multiple curated sets and props, family included, and twenty digital images. It is the most complete newborn experience I offer as a standalone session. This is perfect for families who know they want lots of photos and a wide variety of sets and props.

If you are also planning maternity photos, the Bump-to-Baby Bundle is $1,495 and covers both sessions, with professional hair and makeup included for each, sixteen digital files total. (8 per session)

What Your Session Fee Actually Covers

Every session at my studio includes a fully prepared newborn suite with props, wraps, and styled sets chosen before you arrive, a private studio kept warm for your baby, 25 years of newborn posing and soothing experience, and complete color and crop editing on every image in your gallery. Any image you purchase is also fully retouched. This means no worrying about stray hairs, blemishes, etc.

You are not paying separately for props, set styling, or the safety and experience that make those curled, sleepy poses possible. That is all built in.

Why There Is No Minimum Purchase

There is no minimum order requirement in any package. After your session, we sit down together for a same-day viewing, you see the RAW images from your session, and you pick only the photos you love. Your total investment is the session fee plus whatever images and products you choose, which means you are always in control of the final number.

For families searching for an affordable newborn photographer in Everett WA, the Mini at $350 was designed exactly for that flexibility. Some clients keep it simple with a few images. Many decide to add the complete gallery once they see everything. Both are completely valid outcomes, and neither is required.

How My Pricing Compares in the Seattle Area

Newborn photography in the greater Seattle market commonly runs anywhere from a few hundred dollars for a shoot-and-burn session to several thousand for a luxury studio experience. My pricing sits intentionally in the middle: professional studio quality, a dedicated newborn suite, and heirloom print products, starting at a point that doesn't force you to choose between documenting this season and the rest of your monthly salary! 😉

When you factor in what is included, the prepared sets, the no-minimum structure, the same-day ordering appointment, and the years of experience handling newborns safely, I hope you'll agree the value you'll get is different than a simple price comparison suggests.

Ready to Plan Your Newborn Session?

The best time to book is before your baby arrives, ideally in your second trimester, since the ideal photography window is within the first two weeks of life.

When selecting a date for your session, I tell clients to pick a date approximately 10 days after your due date. If your baby arrives early or late, we can always reschedule if needed. I'm also happy to work with individual needs. Let me know your circumstances, and we will plan accordingly.

If you have questions about pricing, packages, or which session fits your family, I am happy to walk you through it. Call me at 425.232.5263 or book your newborn session at ijphoto.net.
