Even in November the WAC or Washington Athletics Club is busy with weddings because it’s one fantastic venue! It was a very cold day for a wedding. You would never know because it was one of those amazing winter days when the sun decides to shine despite the freezing temperatures. Our day started with Qili getting ready in a WAC hotel suite upstairs. Justin did the same in the library downstairs.
Then we went on a little walking tour of downtown Seattle to photograph this beautiful pair. After the couple thawed out from our chilly adventure they joined with friends and family for an intimate ceremony. It was sweet to see her parents, who spoke only Chinese, brought to tears at the sight of their sweet daughter. More tears were shed during the reception. Qili translated for her family during the heartfelt toasts.
I loved the tall floral arrangements used during the ceremony that became the centerpieces on each table. I also really liked the uplighting that bathed everything in a pale icy blue color, which was very appropriate for the day! Like many of the guests I couldn’t get over the crystal chandeliers. I tried my best to get it in as many photos as possible; the best of these is probably the first dance Qili and Justin shared.
I can’t forget to mention their lovely cake! This delicious dessert had a place of honor at the center of the dance floor during dinner. It was removed after being cut by the couple so dancing could begin. I really liked it’s placement, so often cake’s are shoved in a corner of a venue and barely noticed but I love cake and enjoyed seeing it front and center!
Thanks to Qili and Justin and their families for a beautiful day.
