Roselani and Ben were looking for an urban Seattle park for their engagement session, luckily they live right next door to one with a rose garden, winding paths, cool sculptures, and of course water features! This fun couple are getting married later this summer and planning a Seahawks themed wedding. (In case you were wondering, that’s how you know you’re a TRUE 12th {wo}man.) So we incorporated their jerseys into our shoot as well as lots of laughter and kissing (them not me- that would have been awkward).

Before our session both Roselani and Ben had mentioned their desire to create portraits that were personal, fun, and felt natural. Sometimes it can be hard to make that magic in a place where there are lots of people around. Luckily our chosen destination wasn’t too busy and we had lots of room to move about and let them be themselves. It was my first goal that this showed up in their photos. Second, I wanted anyone who saw their portraits to know these two crazy kids are completely, 100% head of heels for one another. I feel pretty confident that we achieved both goals, but I’ll let you be the final judge.

Thanks to Roselani and Ben for introducing me to a great new spot I didn’t know about. I can’t wait to take other couples to Freeway park! I loved the cool sculpture we photographed them on first, the lovely tucked away corners, and even the outside of the bathrooms looked like the walls of a stadium, so we didn’t have to go too far to feel like we were¬†transported to another place.
