Wedding at The Red Barn Farm
To be honest, I have mentioned once or twice that I’m not crazy about barn weddings, but I’ve had to change my tune after this one. I LOVE weddings at The Red Barn Farm and wish all of my couples who like that mix of the elegant/country/garden styles would choose this as their venue. I adored the historic barn and it’s beautiful restoration, the picturesque pond/ceremony site, and the evening light that transformed the venue into a photographer’s paradise.
Rachael and Andrew
The wedding day started out with Rachael and her lovely bridesmaids in the Hen House (yes, that’s its official title). This lovely space was comfortable for getting ready and very pretty for photographs. I loved all the mirrors, the chandelier, and the rustic wood walls. Andrew prepped in the loft of the barn, which was perfect for a group of guys to hang out in while waiting for the ceremony. I loved the modern elements mixed with the historic fixtures throughout the space.
The first look was one of my favorite moments. I couldn’t get over Andrew’s expressions! I especially laughed at the photo of him with raised eyebrows or the one where he whistled at Rachael as she did a spin to show off the back of her sexy dress. After the first look, we decided to get out of the sun and hide in the shade of some lovely trees. We also took full advantage of the tall bamboo for group photos of their wedding party. As guests started to arrive, Rachael, Andrew, and I went into the loft of the barn for a few more pics. I think one of my favorite shots from the whole day is the photo of their profiles in front of the small barn window.
Next to a beautiful pond at The Red Barn Farm, Andrew and Rachael shared personal vows that brought many guests to tears. It was heartwarming to hear them speak so genuinely to one another and with such honest emotion. Both of their mother’s shared readings as well, which added to the overall joy of the occasion. Once the ceremony was finished guests were treated to a raw oyster bar and cocktail hour which was a huge hit for this thirsty crowd!
A wedding at The Red Barn Farm seems to move effortlessly through the different spaces designed for all of the needs. Our final destination was the barn itself. Here guests were treated to a lovely family style meal, some hilarious and heartfelt toasts, dancing, and pie! Not big lovers of cake, Rachael and Andrew opted for an assortment of delicious pies. My favorite was the chili chocolate mousse. It was by far the best I have ever eaten! Other guests mentioned how the apple and cherry pies also were fantastic. I wish had been able to sample them all! My second favorite shot of the night was during the first dance. The Red Barn Farm has two levels for the reception. In the loft, Lydia was able to look down at our newlyweds and capture a dramatic action shot. I was blown away when I saw it! To end the night friends and family grabbled sparklers and cheered on the new Mr. and Mrs. as they exited this beautiful historic space and headed towards their happily ever after. It was a perfect end to an amazing day.
Thank you to all of the vendors that worked so hard to help make this day a great one! And a huge congrats to Rachael and Andrew! It was such a joy working with you both!
