Something wonderful happened on February 20th, the sun appeared from behind it’s grey cloud curtain and gave Ben and Waverly a beautiful sunny (while cold) day for a winter wedding in Seattle. Their union was held at an adorable venue, The Great Hall at Greenlake; a historic setting just a block from it’s namesake lake. The day was one filled with friends, laughter, and special moments that I wanted to share with you in this sneak peek. Of course more images are to come, so stay tuned! Here’s some of the highlights.
Ben gifted his groomsmen monogrammed glasses and immediately filled them with a quality scotch to toast. It was obvious this group of guys care deeply about their friend, and enjoyed being with him to celebrate one of life’s most momentous events. Waverly was equally blessed with dear friends and her sweet mom who in turn also toasted to her and the love Ben and Waverly share.
One of my favorite moments of the day was Ben and Waverly’s first look. The couple wrote each other sweet messages which they shared just feet from each other (unknowingly) before the big reveal. This probably was part of the reason why Ben was overcome with emotion at the sight of his lovely bride, Waverly. (I just want to pause here and say how much I loved this moment! This is what true love looks like, I am sure of it.)
Then we took a quick trip down to the lake for a few photos before heading back to the Great Hall at Greenlake for the ceremony. This lovely venue was picture perfect as the sun streamed in from the large arched windows. The vows were sweet and simple, and their kiss passionate.
Then came an excellent example of what a party can be as friends and family mingled and danced from the afternoon well into the evening. I especially loved seeing Waverly dance with her father, and then later that evening I caught one of the groomsmen dancing with his two year old. I couldn’t help by imagine my own son one day dancing with me at his own daughter’s wedding, and I was overcome with emotion. (I’m such a nerd, I always end up crying at every wedding!) What a great reminder of the blessing of family that comes when two people fall in love.
Thank you Ben and Waverly for sharing your love with all of us. May God bless your union and your family throughout every step of life.
