I adore shooting a golf course wedding. My favorite is Inglewood Golf Club. I shot there several times a year and it never disappoints. The grounds look beautiful year round, the interior is filled with light, and the staff and food are top notch. With the weather being what it is in June, everyone was on pins and needles to see if the sun would appear. Luckily Ali and Rochelle were blessed with a perfect day for a wedding. Like most weddings, the bride gathered with her bridesmaids to do hair and makeup in the upstairs bridal suite. I asked where Ali, the groom, was and found out he was busy with wedding details. It was refreshing to see a bride so at ease and a hands-on groom!
Ali and Rochelle really complement each other. An observation that became more obvious as we did the first look. It was easy to tell that Ali loves Rochelle’s free spirit and soft heart. Often times the first look is the moment the groom cries. This time it was Rochelle that burst into tears. Ali held her tenderly, and my heart melted.
During the ceremony, one of the groomsmen shared a poem that was beautiful and personal. Rochelle again had tears in her eyes. Many friends and family members did too! The also did a sand ceremony. I thought it was sweet that they included letters to each other they plan to open in five years time along with a bottle wine. I loved the personal touches and their passionate kiss after being pronounced man and wife. The joy on their faces as they walked down the aisle was electric!
The reception included beautiful toasts, funny stories, and lots of dancing! This couple and their friends love to shake it on the dance floor. I loved the energy and the fun candids we photographed. Right before the sun went down Ali and Rochelle snuck away for a few photos on Lake Washington. I always love these photos so much.
Ali and Rochelle are truly wonderful people and it was so heartwarming to see their love celebrated. I would like to add my well wishes to the many others. May God bless your union, and may each day be filled with laughter, family, and joy.
For anyone looking for a venue, I strongly recommend a golf course wedding. Inglewood is one of the best because of it’s classically beautiful design, fantastic food, and access to Lake Washington for picture perfect sunset photos!
