This post was originally shared in 2014 but I can’t get over how much I love the venue (Inglewood Golf Club) and the couple, so I’m re-sharing it for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!
April and Ben Nelson’s wedding was a celebration of family, and the love and laughter that defines that special relationship. Their two boys were an important part of the ceremony, Ben even wrote special vows just for the boys. Additionally Ben’s family preformed a hilarious skit recounting how Ben and April met. I can safely say it’s one of only a few weddings I’ve been to that included groomsmen dressing in drag. But this was the tip of the iceberg. These two people’s love is obviously pure and lasting. It was such a privilege to witness the blending of their families and hearts. So, in honor of their marriage I’d like to present a few images I feel really highlight the beauty of their wedding, which was held at the Inglewood Golf Club in Kirkland, WA.
The Venue: Inglewood Golf Club
Creating the perfect wedding means starting with the right location. Inglewood is filled with charm and classic stylish elements that are just a joy to photograph. The Spanish Villa style is unlike anything you’ll find in Western, WA. The grounds are perfectly manicured, (of course) leading to an endless array of beauty. Photographing here was nothing short of miraculous. Add to this lovely scene the perfect styling of Love Bug Weddings and events, a very tasty dessert from The Cakewalk Shop, floral arrangements by Flowers by Tiffany, and a fun selection of music by DJ Barrack (not Obama) and the scene was set for a magical event!
The Ceremony: A heartfelt exchange
Ben’s father officiated the ceremony, and like I mentioned before, the couple shared very personal vows with each other. Many tears of joy were shed by one and all, including this photographer! Here’s a few images that I feel capture that sweet feeling.
The Reception: Party Time!
One of my favorite reception photos of all time is this moment when Ben’s brother was leading the couple in the shoe game. I’m kind of a geek for composition and this hit all the right notes. In addition to the great memories shared in the toasts and skit, there was a delicious cake, lots of dancing and a wonderful evening all around.
Than you Ben and April for choosing me for your wedding. You will forever be one of my favorite couples.
