The Hotel Ballard is a great location for an intimate wedding ceremony and reception. I had the honor of photographing the wedding of Heather and Jason there last Friday and I want to share some of the excellent details of their wedding with you and a few portraits of this really great pair. Here’s some background on our bride and groom.
Jason and Heather live in Idaho but they have roots in the Seattle area. Through the help of family, friends, and the internet they planned their destination wedding at the Hotel Ballard. Both Heather and Jason are very easy going people, so their wedding was a great opportunity for them to catch up with old friends and relax. We enjoyed a family style dinner that allowed plenty of time for loved ones to share memories and reconnect.
Before the wedding I met up with the bride and groom at Hiram M. Chittenden Locks not too far from the Hotel Ballard. We enjoyed the gardens and cool summer breezes of Western Washington before heading to the hotel and the rest of their lives.
During cocktail hour we were able to grab a few family photos in the lovely lobby of the hotel. (Heather has an identical twin sister in case you were confused by the photo below.) Once up on the roof guests were greeted with a really amazing view, a ton of delicious food and very elegant decor. Right before sunset we took a few more photos of the newlyweds with the sun setting in the distance.
The best part of the wedding wasn’t the food, or the view it was the connection between Heather and Jason. They seemed so natural together. It was obvious this pair have something special. Thanks to the bride and groom, their families, and their kind friends for a wonderful evening.
