The Fremont Foundry is a great blend of modern lines, urban spaces, and romance. Claire and Tristan are very fond of clean lines, and the modern minimalist / urban vibe that the Fremont Foundry offers. So it was natural for them to choose to have their rooftop wedding here. But let’s go back because their wedding day actually started at home in South Seattle. Upon arrival and finding the lovely bride having her hair and makeup in progress, I took some time to photograph her shoes and dress.
On her bed was a pillow that read “happily ever after”. I found out later that was the theme for their entire wedding day! Claire loves fashion and design. She told me that when she tried on her wedding dress she had that “love at first sight feeling” you hear girls talk about on tv. Her dress has a delicate lace bodice, empire waistline, full skirt, and pockets! Later that same evening it was fun to watch Claire spin on the dance floor as her dress moved effortlessly after her.
For the first look, Tristan meet us in between Pioneer Square at Pike Place market. Together we crisscrossed the city and photographed in some of the most iconic locations. It was a lovely summer’s day so traffic and crowd control was challenging. Luckily we planned lots of time for photos and we got back to the Fremont Foundry in time for the couple to relax and enjoy a bite with their wedding party before group photos in the courtyard.
I can’t forget to mention Tristan’s restored a VW bus for the wedding. Not only was this a great getaway car, but it was also a thematic element for the wedding. Guests posed in front of it for a quick photo before the wedding, and their guestbook had a drawing of it as well! After a beautiful ceremony on the roof overlooking the city, the couple enjoyed a cocktail hour with friends and family before sunset and the real party began. It was so much fun to see so many people out on the dance floor and enjoying the perfect Seattle summer weather.
Thank you Tristan and Claire for being a blast to work with. I wish every wedding was just like yours!
