A Historic Venue in Snohomish WA
Today I want to share a beautiful Belle Chapel Wedding with you from September 2018.
Tristen and Stuart came from Michigan to Tristen’s childhood home for their wedding. They were blessed with a beautiful late Summer day and many friends and family to share it with.
Our day started in what used to be the offices of Belle Chapel. ( Check out their website here.) Today these rooms have been renovated for brides and grooms use before the wedding. Tristen’s lovely lace dress was very flattering. I loved her sweet nature from the minute I met her! While she was getting her hair and makeup done she mentioned that they would be using a family heirloom bible during the ceremony. I immediately took said bible and photographed it with some of her accessories.
A Series of First Looks
After she was ready to go we did a first look with her father. Tristen walked down the long aisle in the chapel to the front staircase where her dad was waiting. At the sight of her he immediately burst into tears. I love it when people cry! How touching is it to see her father overcome by the love he has for his daughter? From there Tristen continued to the front of the church where Stuart was waiting for her. Stuart couldn’t stop smiling. It was interesting to contrast these two men’s reactions. Both love Tristen so much, but in very different ways. As a parent I understood her father’s reaction completely. And as a spouse and a wedding pro for 20 years, I loved seeing the excitement Stuart and Tristen shared.
Outside there are some beautiful gardens. We took some photos of our happy couple outside Belle Chapel and then around the block as well. Snohomish is full of beautiful historic homes. We also took advantage of the fall leaves for our photos.
A Classic Ceremony
The ceremony felt like we went back in time 100 years. The beautiful arched ceiling made for some dynamic photos. To personalize their ceremony the officiant used the metaphor of building a home to represent their marriage. As a
A Traditional Yet Not Traditional Reception
The newlyweds are definitely not the kind of people that like the spotlight. Their reception didn’t have a lot of the events one may expect. Instead, they opted to enjoy their guests by visiting with friends, enjoying lawn games, and chatting. They did traditional first dances spontaneously instead of on a schedule and they did toasts and cake cutting with little fan fair. This did mean I had to be constantly at the ready for
By the end of the night when their get away car arrived it was just beginning to sprinkle. It was a perfect end to such a wonderful day.
Congrats Tristen and Stuart!
