A Beau Lodge Wedding

Beau Lodge is one of my favorite hidden wedding venues. It’s tucked in the countryside in Bow, WA and it was the perfect location for our Wedding Styled Shoot. Our couple, Aaron and Rachael met me at the Seattle wedding show in January where they entered my contest to win a free styled shoot. Since they were eloping the following week, this was a perfect opportunity to “practice” for their big day.

Beau Lodge has a very NW type of charm. There are wooden groves, grassy fields, a picture perfect pond, and of course, a lodge. This venue is perfect for a summer garden party wedding with guests seated around a fallen apple tree for a ceremony or next to the water for the reception. There is also an indoor space and covered porch that is excellent for an indoor wedding in case of weather.

The vision for this styled shoot was a combination of rustic, glamour, and drama. To do this we used a deep plum/wine as our main accent color and incorporated purple, blush pink, Maroon, and gold. The different shades all within the same color family worked well together to create a table and dessert bar that was trendy as well as beautiful.

To play up the glamor angle we chose a dress from LaineeMeg Bridal that had some serious sex appeal. Rachael looked amazing in this gown! The color perfectly complemented her beautiful skin tone and figure. A huge thanks to Lisa Boehm Beauty of Paperdolls NW for the perfectly natural hair and makeup. I hear from brides all the time they want to look amazing on their wedding day but not overdone. Lisa did this with expert skill.  Aaron’s suit in a charcoal grey was equally flattering and the pair looked like they would be at home just about anywhere.

Flowers By Tiffany created some lovely centerpieces for our tables and the ceremony. Her work really brought the entire shoot together and made our non-traditional color palette work. Most importantly, LCM Weddings and Events did a fantastic job designing our shoot with the impressive selection of rentals from Vintage Ambiance, linens from Sweet Buffet Lady, a beautiful cake from Cakes by Day, fruit tarts from Fred Meyer Bakery, stationery suite by Savant Invitations and macarons by yours truly.

A special thanks to Stan at Beau Lodge for his help and patience!
