Even in you live just an hour away, locations like Beau Lodge can give you that destination wedding feel without the extended travel times and security checkpoints. Eria and Nate married on a rainy day in the Fall but no amount of water could dampen their spirits. When I arrived I expected to see Erica apprehensive about their outdoor wedding and the weather. Instead I found a woman so excited to marry the man on her dreams that nothing could bring her down. Lucky for us the weather let up just as we started photographing them. We were able to get some very lovely photos in the gardens and surrounding landscape. These features drew the pair to Beau Lodge in the first place.
By the time the ceremony started the rain had picked up again. The main event of the day moved under the roof of the patio so everyone could stay dry. This intimate location was picture perfect as these two shared heartfelt vows and their mother’s shared tears of joy. Once the couple had sealed their promises with a kiss, we all enjoyed a lovely cocktail hour under the cover of the patio before moving into the reception.
Just before sunset the clouds parted revealing some of the most lovely light I had ever seen. I asked Erica and Nate to come with me out into the gardens for a few quick shots. Without hesitation these two left their meals and we spent some time in the trees. Just as the final rays of the light were peaking through the trees I grabbed a shot of the venue that is probably my all time favorite!
The rest of the evening was filled with lots of laughter as toasts. Well wishes were shared, cake was cut, and several hours of dancing. This thoughtful pair gave each guest a bag of their favorite coffee as a thank you gift and friends and family welcomed the thoughtful present and it’s warming aroma as they headed home.
I want to add my thanks to Erica and Nate for being willing to do anything and everything I could image! Their fearlessness was inspiring. Thanks again and may all of your days be as happy as this one.
