Going Out of Business
Dear Friends and Clients-
I regret to inform you that Irene Jones Photography will be closing due to a recent and serious decline in my health. This decision is not something I wanted to make and comes as quite a shock to our family.
I have had a lot of questions in regards to my health and here is a short synopsis of what is going on. I was admitted to the hospital on December 28th because I was complaining of severe chest pain and shortness of breath. As it turns out the doctors discovered internal bleeding and an enlarged spleen, liver, and left kidney. Unable to determine the exact cause of these problems I stayed in the hospital for several days to insure I was no longer bleeding. On the 1st I was released with specific instructions to no lift or carry anything, do any work, or generally do any sort of activity that might put stress on my body because it would most likely cause additional bleeding and possibly my death. I’ve been doing my best to control the pain and minimize activity as I wait for additional tests and hopefully a diagnosis.
To be completely honest, this experience has been very scary for myself and my family. It has made me reevaluate my priorities.
I love photography and I have loved being a photographer for so many awesome families. It has been a great privilege to help preserve the memories and feelings of love that each family has for one another in an artistic way. Right now my largest concern is seeing my three children grow up. I have a young family that means so much to me. In many ways my love for them has been the inspiration I’ve used to help me in my work. It has motivated me to do my very best for each of you, knowing that the same love I have for them exists in your home. Nothing is more valuable then our families, they are our most precious gift. For this reason I have decided to dedicate all of my time to my family for the foreseeable future.
Closing down a successful business is actually quite the undertaking! I have a decade’s worth of clients to contact and literally hundreds of thousands of portraits. I am sure that you may have questions in regards to many different aspects of how this process with proceed. I will try to answer as many of them as possible below. If by chance your specific question is not answered please feel fee to call Terice Lehman at our office phone between the hours of 10am and 2pm Tuesday-Thursday. She will be handling your inquiries until the end of the month. At which point you can still email me at irene@ijphoto.net . Please be patient with us and know that a response may take as long as a week as we are overwhelmed currently.
Things you might want to know:
- Can I still order prints?
- Yes! If you currently have an active session on our online ordering site Collages.net you will be able to order prints. If your session in no longer active but you have viewed images from collages.net previously you can always re-activate your session by emailing me at irene@ijphoto.net. Reactivated sessions will be online for 30 days. All online hosting will be terminated on March 1, 2012. Please place any print order prior to this date. Additionally all print orders will be 40% off from now until March 1, as part of our going out of business sale.
- Can I purchase the high resolution files/digital negatives?
- Yes! At the end of January we will be liquidating all digital files. This is your last and only opportunity to purchase these files prior to our studio closing. Normally a collection of all digital files would be priced at $500.00. For this “Fire Sale” all digital files will be sold at 90% off or $50 per session. If you are interested in owning the digital files from any session I have photographed please email me at irene@ijphoto.net on or before January 14th. Disks will be available for pick up on:
Jan. 28 between noon and 4pm or Jan. 30, 31 between 10am and 2pm.
- My child’s portrait is displayed in your studio, can I purchase that image?
- Yes! Over the years we have used many different images for display purposes. If we have an image of you or a family member we will contact you with details about discounted pricing and how to purchase your print.
- I have a gift card for Irene Jones Photography, can I still redeem it?
- If you have a gift card for a specific dollar amount you can still use that gift card to purchase prints and custom products from your session. You may also use that gift card during our Fire Sale to purchase your digital files. The last day to use these gift cards will be March1, 2012. At that time no additional orders will be accepted. Gift cards for a free session will not be honored, exchanged or refunded.
- I have purchased a baby bundle plan, what happens to that package now?
- Unfortunately I will not be able to fulfill the sessions associated with your baby bundle plan or provide the 10×20 collage associated with the package. However a credit for your purchase price of the baby bundle plan will be issued via collages.net. Using this coupon code you will be able to order prints from your previous session(s) up to the value of the Baby Bundle Plan purchase price.
- I have a Living Social Voucher, what do I do?
According to the Living Social Terms and Conditions “LivingSocial will provide a refund of the purchase price paid by you for any Deal within five days after the purchase of a Voucher, provided that the Voucher has not yet been redeemed. After five days, we do not provide refunds except that we will provide a refund if you are unable to redeem a Voucher before the applicable expiration of the Voucher because the relevant Merchant has gone out of business.” Please contact Living Social directly to receive your refund.
- When is the last day I can order a print/product?
March 1, 2012 is the last day any order will be accepted. Payment must be made in full for any order made after January 5, 2012 at the time of order.
- I have a payment plan, what happens now?
Your payments will continue as scheduled until the balance is paid in full. If at any time your credit card is declined for said payment you will be contacted by Irene Jones Photography via email daily until another form of payment can be provided. If necessary your account will be sent to collections and/or court until the balance of your account is paid in full.

A portrait session with Irene Jones Photography is a fun and rewarding experience. We create portraits that reflect your personality and create valuable memories for the future. You can even view your finished products to scale as they would appear in your home! All you need to do is provide a photo of the space you’d like to hang your new portraits in and Irene does the rest.

Our Santa Portrait Event is more then a mall snapshot. Your child will be photographed with Santa in a candid and creative way. We are excited to have the Childhood Cancer Careline as part of our event this year. In the past we have worked with the Red Cross to help with Haitian earthquake relief, and the Lake Stevens Family Center to bring Christmas to families in Snohomish County. This year we are working with the Childhood Cancer Careline and my good friend Santa Claus to kick off the holiday season in a memorable way. The Childhood Cancer Careline provides financial and emotional support to childhood cancer patients and their families undergoing treatment at local care facilities, including all of the regional medical centers, including Childrens Hospital/Medical Center, the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Group Health, and Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital.
Our one day event is a perfect way to start off your season of giving. A donation of $25.00 and a phone call to schedule your appointment time is all that’s needed. Plus we are offering exclusive new products just for this special event! Here’s what you need to know:
- A minimum donation of $25 to the Childhood’s Cancer Careline holds your spot to see Santa.
- You must call 425-367-4781 to book your session.
- Prints, Christmas Cards and other products are sold separately. An appointment to review your photos and order prints will be scheduled for the following week (Mon. 11/28- Sat. 12/3). This appointment will be scheduled at the same time you call to book your portrait session.
- A variety of portraits will be available for you to choose from, including individual portraits, small groups, and of course Santa and your child!
